Community Guidelines

Sorella exists so that no woman has to carry a diagnosis, or the search for one, alone. That only works if every conversation is safe. These guidelines apply to everything you do on Sorella: 1:1 conversations, circles, your profile. By using Sorella you agree to them, alongside our Terms.

1. Be the sister you came looking for

Everyone here is navigating something. Listen without judging, share without lecturing. Disagreement is fine; contempt, mockery, harassment, and hate are not. There is no feed and no audience on Sorella, so there is nothing to win by being harsh.

2. Support, not medical advice

Sorella is peer support, not a medical service. Share what you've lived, what helped you, what you wish you'd known. Don't present yourself as a healthcare professional, diagnose other members, tell someone to stop a treatment, or promote miracle cures. When in doubt, the answer is always "talk to your doctor about it".

3. Protect everyone's anonymity, including your own

• Never share another member's messages, username, or story outside Sorella.
• Don't pressure anyone to reveal their real name, location, or contact details.
• Be careful with your own identifying details too. Sorella never asks for your real name; you don't have to give it to anyone.

4. What's never allowed

• Harassment or hate of any kind, including based on health status.
• Sexual content or advances. Sorella is not a dating app. Any sexualization of minors is reported to authorities, as set out in our Child Safety Standards.
• Encouraging self-harm. If someone is struggling, point them to the resources on our Crisis resources page instead.
• Spam and commerce: advertising, selling, fundraising, recruiting for studies or other platforms.
• Impersonation, of a person, a clinician, or the Sorella team.
• Being under 18. Sorella is for adults only.

5. Reporting

Every message and profile can be reported with one tap, directly from the conversation. Reports are confidential: the person reported doesn't know who reported them. A trained human, not an algorithm, reviews every report and acts within 24 hours. More on the Report a message page.

6. What happens when these rules are broken

Depending on severity, we remove content, warn, suspend, or permanently ban the account. For the most serious violations (threats, CSAE, sextortion) the ban is immediate and we report to the relevant authorities. If you believe we got a decision wrong, write to safety@sorella-app.com and a human will take a second look.
